I found this in the nest this morning.
Ya... ooops!! But I did find 2 more eggs. One was a most beautiful greenish blue and I have no clue who laid it. The girls are out under the toy hauler, so it will keep them from getting bored and eating eggs. Bad chickens!!George is beautiful... Seems like just yesterday she was running around in the incubator on the new year hatch-a-long thread!!!
Oops scrambles-bad hens!!!!

naughty hens!
Adorable!!! Is that a work puppy or a Honey-guess-what-I-got! puppy?
I'm right there with ya. Set the alarm for 7:30 today, luxurious Sunday snooze in. I wake up at 4:30am, can't go back to sleep, and end up watching the gold medal hockey match. I'm not really even a hockey fan, but it's better than not sleeping and worrying about not sleeping.Ugh I've been getting up without fail at 6 every morning!! Wide awake!!! I use to be able to sleep til noon! This getting older thing sucks! But a favorite saying of mine is "be thankful for getting old, it's a privilege denied many".
So I'll counteract the early awakening with and after church Sunday nap!!
Chinese sounds yummy!!! Haven't had that in awhile! I just made pulled pork nachos. If you've never tried that combo you are missing out. It is fabulous. I don't even like beef or chicken nachos anymore!!! Yummy!!!
The oldest girls are 17 weeks!!! It's getting close (of course the 5 oldest girls consist of two silkies and a polish.... So I'm really only close prob with the two marans).
Quote: Could have been an accidental breakage and then they explored and tasted a bit. I have one that lays thin shells (despite the oyster shell on offer) and those often get stepped on and cracked.
Quote: What about Rumples? Isn't she an Araucana? They lay blue eggs!!!![]()
Hi George and Hattie!
George and Hattie say "Hi" George looks huge in this picture, but it's deceptive. She is about half as big as Hattie, and Hattie is a little ameraucanaish EE.
This morning, Astrid was attempting to crow. It sounds like he has laryngitis. Just sort of a whisper-hiss crow. Here's hoping he never figures it out! Currently, Hecate, the Barred One, is the noisemaker. Hattie doesn't even do an egg song. She just goes into the coop, there is silence, then she comes out and there is an egg in the next box. And the more psycho aspects of her personality have really mellowed out since she started laying. Hecate is always commenting, complaining, announcing, dramatizing, and otherwise vocalizing. Her "egg song" usually makes me run out there in alarm thinking something dire is happening.I've never really cared for the term Easter Egger. Makes me think they're some kind of colored egg laying machine. But Ameraucanaish, now that's a good name (and it would drive the Am breeders nuts! But only the snooty ones!
