Oh, you poor overworked thing, being forced to keep puppies at home.  The horror!  Do they have that marvelously terrible puppy breath?

Ratchet ran off with another egg today, but I was able to get him to bring it back before he busted it! The chickens are being really loud today, with everyone chiming in everytime that someone decides to do an egg-song (even if it is a fake one!) Oh well! Hubby is stopping at the hardware store to get some lumber and wire to get the coop done! I am really getting excited! It is finally all starting to come together, at least with the plans! Yeah, I guess the cuteness fades a bit when you are caring for nine.  So many!  What happened to mama dog?

Not really sure. They were found in a ditch on a really busy intersection. And after 3 days the lady said the food she put out hadn't been touched. And no signs at all of momma. So either she was just that feral, or hit by a car. But the babies are super super fat. So i am really not sure.

omg that chicken with the sign is a gol-dern riot! it's super windy and snowing ~ such a bummer. although, it has halted the rapid melt that was causing flooding... I had taken the vinyl and plastic off the pen doors for those couple of mild days we had, just to circulate air and help dry things... now temps dropped drastically and I had to zip around and close it all up while the snow was whipping... still have a few things to do for them... so I'll be back in a bit with the egg count - gotta say, I have 3 already from the Fosters and I got the heck pecked outta my hand getting them out from under a red pullet who's trying to lay hers...!

it's another 2014 record day! 14 Eggs! didn't get a 4th from the Fosters, so maybe she's got broody potential... she sure didn't want me sticking my hand under her! we got a healthy dusting of snow, and it covers the ice nicely... so nicely, I slipped and fell outside the Foster section. thankfully, I landed on my good cheek!!

I am at my wits end with this winter.

omg, if I only dared post a pic of my left cheek... it's bad. I won't have a bruise from today's minor slip... I mostly landed on my hand and then made sure I rotated enough to take any further impact on the right...
