Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

well, it's still pouring, the temps are hovering just above freezing, and it's snowing to the north and west. my yard looks like a lake, the ground is still frozen so the water can't really soak in, but once it does... it will be saturated fast. I got to work early this morning so hopefully I could be home early, and it worked out nicely, the mail had arrived just before I did and the volume was light. checked on the flock as soon as I got home and they are fine, some wet sections, but they can avoid them easily.. I'll spread out a bunch of fresh straw later on when I bring out snacks... help to sop it up... but I will guaranteed have a bunch of ice in front of the Dome's doorway that will have to be chipped out in the morning. so I can get the door open.

16 Eggs so far and still a few sitting... it's only 2 PM, so I'll hopefully get a few more by the end of the day.

Lindz - I am guessing roo on # 6. Were these straight run or sexed? That one just looks like a boy. I read your other thread while I was browsing the chick section. I was super annoyed at that lady who just got all judgemental and didn't even answer your question. Some people!

They are supposed to be all pullets except for the 3 EE's.... They were st.run. The white ones are having issues with pecking.... I don't know if it is the spots or what! They all had Blue Kote on them from TSC.... I just had to grab one of them because one of the EE's and one of the Reds wouldn't leave it alone. So, I just had to put some Nustock on one's butt cause they have pecked it to bleeding! My aunt said the ones she has are still pecking each other too! I am hoping this stops as they get a little bigger, or they won't last long!

I was a little annoyed at that too.... oh well, you just have to overlook some people!

Mylee's first trip to the beauty parlor! she was so good, the stylist couldn't believe she's only 4.

Bye Bye rats and rat nests! I miss her so much. they are planning on coming back up once it gets warmer...probably May, but I want to take some vacation time in April, I will go see her!

I have a reply for W4W and your wonderful Spring photos. I'm so jealous. so so so very jealous. I know you are still in a drought and that's serious... but I'm squishing around in 2-3 inches of water that is starting to freeze.

no budding here for a long time I'm afraid... it's so foggy you can't see the stand of trees across the yard at all. but it's 4:30 and it's still only raining - becoming more like ice pellets, but it's not snow.
