Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Wow Lindz!!! I hope I have that many eggs!!!

My silkie is quickly becoming my favorite. I couldn't touch them before but now she squats a mile away and I can pick her up and carry her around w me.

I love the baskets of multicolored, multi-sized eggs.

Someday. . .

For now, I am happy with the two unbroken ones. I put more nest material in there and it seems to have cushioned things, or maybe she is understanding more that the roost is safer. She's hanging out on there more. I had to herd her into the big girl coop again, last night, but she went. Astrid and the big girls are such a happy little group, now. I just saw the three of them wander across the yard, through the window, and it gave me joy.

Refreshing your minds: 2 weeks ago, I had 27ish dozen eggs. I gave away/sold a total of 27 dozen. I am now down to 30 dozen.
I have been selling off the flock because A, I had more layers than I need, and B, I now have turkeys. I don't want the feed bill getting worse.
I was going to sell off another 10 or 12. Obviously I have way too many eggs. But! Then the woman at the church said she may get me some egg customers. Then tonight the neighbor said she knows someone that may want my eggs. I have a bad feeling she will be charging her "friend" $3 additional (I only charge $2) but that is still another customer. So, how long should I wait before selling off more layers?
The boys have gained about five ounces, and two inches in two days.

go by how many are they going to buy, we have a lady who gets 10 dozen every other week, my daughter takes eggs home the other week, so it has been working out good for us, if you know how many a week they will buy, but if they just say I want 2 dozen then only 1 dozen it will not work, we have 28 hens but just got 12 sl 2 wks old and we have 12 rir 3wks plus 12 rir 7 wks but we think all the rir are roos so we are going to take some back.

Tonight, I noticed it was getting dark and went out to herd George into the big girl coop.

I looked around the yard. No white chicken. I checked the hidey hole under the chair, the secret spot behind the baby coop, even the dog house. Where was my white chicken? I knew she had left the big girl coop. I had spotted her earlier wandering about.

But, I couldn't find her.

Finally, I checked. She was in the big girl coop, standing on the unfavored nestbox, eying a spot on the roost with all the others.

Sniff, my NYD baby has grown up and joined the flock.
