They are 12 weeks old today. Between my wife's work place and mine, they are already standing in line wanting eggs. I never dreamed people wanted fresh eggs like they do. We have 8 people wanting a dozen a week! I don't even know what to charge plus I want eggs too lol. We have 3 teenagers in the house that all play sports so they want the protein that comes from eggs, we go through about 3 dozen a week just in our house. I might need more chickens if the demand keeps up. I said that to my wife and she said let me guess.... Your going to confuse me with your chicken math so I will say we need a few more chickens! I just smiled sweetly
I am not sure if there is a yolk inside. I might keep the egg, but my curiosity will probably make me crack it open. If I do, I will take pictures. So is it an edible egg?
where did that plasticy yellow one come from I think one of your hens is ill![]()
The cute little egg fart is from Smoke. My 3 yr old BSL.![]()
pay $17 a bag for the purina flock raiser and the other brand ... Dumar I think is $19 a bag at our TSC. They are 50# bags as well. I would love to find cheaper but haven't yet.JW, you'll want more anyway, just because they're so awesome... and you haven't counted neighbors who'll want eggs too... customers will come from the woodwork! I get new customers when friends visit my current customers and see my eggs. apparently, the local co-op sells the Easter eggs for $6/dz! that's just crazy... this is not a wealthy county... we do have some weekend city people... but I frankly would rather my eggs sell, than pile up in the fridge and on the counter... as it stands, I have 1 dozen and 1 18 pack, in the fridge and today's 17 on the counter, that's it! and I'm sure someone will buy those tomorrow... I still only charge $2. more than covers their feed. even over the winter, I've made enough the rest of the year to cover it.
eta a 50# bag of Blue Seal (layer) chicken feed is just under $13... I've been meaning to ask what y'all pay for feed...
I'm paying $14 here in OK at the local hardware for nutrena layer crumbles. We
