Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I bet it's the turkeys, MC. The chickens might have been intimidated by them. I bet I would be, and I'm 3 feet taller than they are!

It's been lovely and cool here, as well. 70's. I'll take it!

I think it is critical for all the newbies to understand the concept of pie. To celebrate 5 days in a row for sweet penny, I made them a pie. It isn't as good as OK's pies...but it will have to do. I have to admit I felt a little silly carrying 8 lbs of fruit out to the birds but penny has put a lot of work into this whole egg thing and hopefully this will co Vince the others to stop goofing off.

Never underestimate the power of a pie! Now if you had just given it to Penny & let the others watch...that would have been real incentive!

MC, it's probably a bit of both, the cooler weather has been a blessing hasn't it?? it's so nice to not feel anxious about what I might find at home with heat and humidity. I'm working on the boys end pen of the Bachelor/Foster setup. the boys moved out, on their own a few weeks ago. they moved into the center section and have access to the whole Foster side - at first, they were roosting in the center section, but they've moved again over the last few days, and are roosting with the girls. there's plenty of room for everyone, if they're all getting along, why close the gate between...? so I've let them be. if squabbles start, they can be easily separated... anyway, the empty section is for Peach & Company to move into. needs chick proofing. so that's what I'm doing. later!!
