We were at the Idaho 200 races tonight. There was a little cloud cover in the sky. Sweet!! Just enough to make the heat bearable. Then I looked up and there were some big thunder heads above. Hmmmmm.... better check the weather on the phone. Weather Alert!! Then whammo!! The winds kicked up during opening ceremonies. All around us, the dust began to blow. We could see the cows in a nearby field running for cover. Leaves flying about. Paper and cups flying all around. We are all sheltering our eyes from the dust. I looked up and saw one of the flood lights fall over into the pits and explode. They had to cut the power and the races were canceled. We all left for the shelter of our rigs.
There were fallen trees on the way home, so I worried about the girls. I had the nest box door propped open and it had fallen open and all of the girls were in the pen. Cody was hiding in the doghouse. Exciting evening.
