less worry, less work - shoveling snow off a sagging tarp roof is hard! as for Brutus, if it's as bad a winter as last year? I will bring him inside and build him an aviary in the "workshop" room that I keep the cat litter boxes in. down to 2 cats here, so I have cleaned that room out - before it was the cat litter room, it was my Pug Clara's room. she chose it when we moved in. I put one of her many beds in there and that was it. she slept in there for years. it's warmed by pipes running along the base of the walls to supply heat to the next room over. I'll bring one of the bantam girls in to keep him company. Sweetie will then know for certain that I'm nuts...

Hey, good news. No signs of virus anywhere, all hale and healthy, so I am getting my replacement pullets tomorrow (if the USPS comes through). Getting a Jubilee Orp, a cuckoo Orp, and a bcMarans. I have never had shipped birds before, so am already nervous for them, but they are only coming from 5 hours away and we are having very cool weather right now, so they should be fine. I will take pictures of these guys for sure. Didn't take any of the last three because it was too sad.
 
W4W.... yes, she was a big girl. My favorite is elkburger and finger steaks. Although sausage is yummy too.
