Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I know better than to walk in there with treats held at a normal height level... I've had entire platters dumped by these monsters! Wilma has the best expression...

nope, fingers intact albeit sore....the chicks are the worst, they don't know what is food and what is finger... and then the Fosters were annoyed with having to watch and wait while the other 2 sections were fed first, so I got a few knuckles pinched... they're not bad really - the parrot named Bird that I used to house sit for was way way worse. that hook bill would open my skin like a can opener. horn bills can pinch good but it's not nearly as painful. unless it's my face that gets the pinch. then it really hurts and usually draws blood. only D'Uccle Tommy does that, launching off the roost to fly directly into my face. he's knocked my hat off, knocked my glasses off... now he doesn't get the chance as I never take my eyes off him or turn my back on him while in his pen... such a brat.
anyway, I collected one egg yesterday morning, Gossamer's... and I put it in my pocket. needless to say, I got to work with a broken egg in my pocket.

but I got a pretty green one from Lilac in the afternoon.
 
See this is why I don't like birds. Everyone says "Well then why do you have chickens, they're birds donchaknow." Yeah. I know. But parrot type birds that are bitey....YOWCH. I can keep from being bitten by my chickens lol.
 
Howdy all.... We just got back from Seattle and I find Rumples with a naked back. It looks like she got the feathers pecked off of her and a little blood drawn. I am not sure if Lil Bit picked Rump's feathers out or if another girl got in with her and attacked her. Anyway.... I blocked the top of the fence and now Rump is isolated. She is close to the flock, but they cannot get o her. At least this way, I can be sure about who is laying the egg I keep finding in her pen. Her or Lil Bit. I found a few frozen eggs. Two in Rump's pen and one on the bottom of the coop. My neighbor doesn't look there for eggs.
Good to be home.

You can see Rumples on the inside of the gate and Jemma looking at her. They can still see each other all the time, but for now, Rumples is isolated. The tiny hole at the top of the door is too small to a hen and as far as I know, Lil Bit is the only one who wanted to be with Rump. And she loves her Mom, so I don't understand what happened. Maybe I need to put the game cam in. Anyway.... for now, I will know for sure if Rump is laying or if Lil Bit or Minnie P is hopping in to lay eggs in Rumps pen.
