I thought I should tell you guys that I'm from England and have never heard of the Seahawks or any other team of that nature so don't expect me to comment on it because all of that conversation is just lost on me. :)

Good morning. My head is still pounding so I am not going to be on much! I need to clean the coop out. My deep litter smells like ammonia so I'm going to start over. At least it is a pretty day even if it is cold!
get pine chips and just put on top it takes care of the smell, i just went out and did ours, we have 2 coops and 43 hens had them go in both coops but with it this cold we closed the little coop now they are all in one coop, they are keeping each other warm looked neat the way they are on the roost, we have a flat shelf roost, works great most of them are up there, i would not take dl out in the winter, i have done this every winter for the last 10 yrs, i used a 1/3 of the chips on top of the old.

Min it's American football playoff time so now we're rooting for teams we want to go to the Super Bowl. Do you watch your football (soccer)?

There's a good chance scrambles and Mortie will be having their teams go against each other and if that happens it'll be fun!!!

Lindz I change when I have an ammonia smell cause i take it to mean I didn't do it right and I'd rather start over. Tho the only coop I've had it happen to is the baby coop cause I have too many birds in it and they are "chickens" and don't like to mingle w the big girls. After tomorrow I'll be down 6 boys so it'll be at perfect numbers.

Yes as I'm from Manchester I root for Manchester United, no one even talks about American football, only our kind is big over here :)

That's what I have been using. Oh well. They have clean bedding now and the old is in the run to help with the mud!

Haha, my husband was freaking out a couple of times during the game, he is a lifelong fan. I do not understand football and most of the time I can't even tell who has the ball, so every once in a while, I look up and find something entertaining, but most of it is background noise. I am trying to catch on my paperwork for my job. Boooo! But the chickens were doing well today. I want them to get greens, so sometimes I will thaw a bit of frozen chopped spinach for them to pick.

The SeaHawks did well last night. Todays game between the Packers and the Boyz will be very exciting. I am hoping for a Packers/SeaHawks game. But either way.... it will be a nail biting playoff.
