Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

the first thing I saw this morning. I was like... wait a second! I don't have a brown chick!! I do now!

and 2 chipmunks

9 in all, she still has 1 egg. it's heavy, but quiet... time will tell, but I know she's one very happy Mama!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

W4W, hope hubby has arrived at last! exhausting travels!

@cheeka what a good mama she is!!

Happy st. Patrick's to all! Savannah is celebrating, but I'm celebrating by staying out of the madness. Most schools and businesses are closed today. When we first moved down here we were shocked at how big of a deal it is here. Most other places, people wear green and that's it.

Those chicks are beautiful! Brown one is maybe an EE? Hubby is home and making himself some delicious eggs (and toast with peanut butter!

). He got some scrambled egg-like-substance on the flight back and couldn't eat it. Happy to be home!

savannah, I thought Boston was the only place with a big St. Pat's celebration. For some, just another excuse to drink excessively. Here, it's more for grade school kids. Gives them the chance to pinch their classmates!

Manhattan has a huge celebration for St. Patrick's. I haven't partaken in that melee in years... but we only get to pinch people who are wearing orange.

W4W, so glad he's home and enjoying some super fresh eggs! the 3 newest chicks are all EE's, wondering if the brown is the female and the chipmunks are the males like last summer... except that Frankie was a chipmunk pattern and these are her eggs.

we have friends and family in the UK, my brother is dying to move there... he may someday, but in the meantime, he travels there every year, and sends care packages with PB and kids cereals that aren't available

Scrambles, I hope you feel better! Rump's babies must be getting some nice feathers by now!

the weather took a real nasty turn today. it's bitter cold and very very windy, so we didn't go outside, and I didn't make a big Pie... I chopped up a couple of apples, some for the babies too... pics later!

I think they have a big thing in chicago too...I feel like I heard something about that.

Incubator is all stable and ready for eggs to go in tomorrow, assuming I can find some! I will be looking for the same guy I bought the eggs that turned into my red girls to get some eggs from tomorrow and stick them in there.

overload... but tough. they are too cute to hold back

first tiny bites of apple

I love to see a nice full crop on a healthy baby!

so the last egg was a quitter, but it's a St. Patty's day gift to have the green eggs hatch today!

toss up for my favorites of the day ^ v

I didn't realize the extent until we moved here. Its become the 2nd largest parade in the country... 3rd largest in the world according to the Today show this morning. Basically its an excuse to party for 5 straight days...they even passed a law to allow the bars to be open on Sunday. We steer clear. I caught up on cleaning and chicken chores today.

Our cream legbars are set to hatch this weekend! I'm excited about having babies again!

Cheeka, the pics are all wonderful and I don't have a favorite, but I really really want to be that little one sticking up from Gossy's wing. So blissfully warm and cozy and safe. Do you think Gossy will adopt me?
