My hens might be smarter than what I give them credit for. I might have eggs in the incubator that are not fertile. Going to check them again in a few days.

wow....i still haven't gotten a doubler yet...I love double yolks.....I cooked six pullet eggs this morning. One was a double yolk (I think it was the second egg laid) and one had a meat spot. Jaz and the dog ate them. Both were very happy.
Jaz and I just collected six eggs. Three from yesterday and three from today. She saw the first egg in the box, and knew she wanted it. She took it, and was too into it to put it in her basket. I finally got her to grab the other two from the second box. This resulted in two cracked eggs as I tried to convince her to put them in the basket. I finally grabbed the three under the roost. We made it a few steps outside before I handed the basket to her, and kept her other hand in mine. She began walking better, but kept trying to put the basket on the ground(so she could play with the eggs). She spilled them, and I picked them back up. This resulted in a hissy fit. I finally handed her one egg. That was fine for a few more steps. She wanted them all!
It was a loud five minutes, but she's playing quietly in the living room now. She is going to be such a fun toddler!
A meat spoy is a little piece of the lining of the uterus that gets into the egg. A blood spot would be a speck of blood. Neither is a big deal.
Now that is funny! It took me a few min.'s to see her.....lol
Gorgeous!
Hello Kitty!
Gossy is broody again. this is her taking a bath. head punching upward every half minute, peering toward the coop and her nest... I'll give her eggs, but my friend who has Peach's last female offspring is supposed to bring me some of their hatching eggs, fertilized by a gorgeous Polish rooster.
