Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I am dealing with a teething puppy and a half naked moulting chicken. Other than that there is not much to update.

I'm still at the grand egg count of 0 eggs per day that shows no signs of improving judging by poor moulting Selma and looks-ready-but-is-currently-queen-of-the-holding-out-club Monica.

Is there much dealing with molting chickens? I just kinda ignore them...

Me too for the most part, but the poor hen has lost most of her tail and is being very loud. I gave in and gave them all mealworms. I feel a bit sorry for her but I know she will take this excuse to drag out the time until she begins to lay again. So no eggs for me. :idunno

I was graced with four eggs today!

We could lay five,
but why should we?
Mom was happy
when we went back to three.
But we made her happy
when she came in the door,
there weren't just three eggs.
There were four!

why is she being loud because she is missing some tail feathers? I'm confused.

I have 2 that are looking pretty ragged. They are operating at the same volume as the rest.

I'm up cleaning....what is wrong with me.

I'm off this week so I hear her more, she is a very vocal bird to begin with and sings the egg song for about and hour before she lays. As she isn't laying, she can't do that. I think this is her way of filling the void.

Sorry if this exchange isn't very coherent, it's three in the morning and I can't sleep. :caf
