Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Someone in the hatching with friends thread was saying this past week how important the flu vaccination is. That the flu is not what we think of as a tummy aches.

I hear that one all time--stomach flu is not influenza. The flu shot is for influenza and is also good for pregnant women according to a new study. It lowers infant mortality by 50% in the study.

true. Influenza is a respiritory disease. What people frequently call "stomach flu" is really Gastroenteritis and not the flu at all. Sorry to hear Too young to go

Know what is just so wrong? My mother (she is recovering from exhaustion. Was in and out of the hospital a few times in the last few weeks for it) has spent the last week complaining to me about how my brother-in-law is such a faker and needs to get his butt back to work. I think that she was just jealous someone else was getting some attention.
I did question her on "I thought you said he was faking?" I do think she needs to feel bad for her behavior this past week.

My younger son had the swine flu when it went around a few years back. He had very high fever, but recovered just fine. Anyone with a compromised immune system would be smart to get a flu shot every year. Mortality is general low for otherwise healthy people. My hubs judt got back from China last night. He's been sick for a week, and is coughing up green gunk. Might have to force him to get checked out, meanwhile I'm not sleeping in that room breathing all those Chinese germs!

I don't blame you!
Brian was a manly man. Over six feet, 240 pounds of muscle. Deep-ish voice. He built rope courses, and did all kinds of odd jobs and outside work. He was a lifeguard and trained/certified other lifeguards... Had all kinds of degrees. No life insurance.

A man in another thread is at the hospital having numerous tests done. He has had a head cold, and said he has been short of breath. I don't recall him saying he was short of breath before this, but that is beside the point. He saw what I said about Brian, and headed for the hospital. He thought that they would give him a prescription, and send him home. He said he has never had so much testing done in his life.

Hey guys.

Big news over here, yesterday the babies figured out how to roost. It's earlier than I expected, and they were brutally rebuffed by the grannies when they went to bed and discovered their roost had been invaded by babies. But still, they had the urge. Good girls. We're saying goodbye to 2 of the babies on wednesday. I still haven't decided when to get rid of the adults we're getting rid of, I had hopped to wait until the babies were closer to laying, but I don't need to wait that long I guess. I dunno. The grannies are still a bit grumpy with the chicks but it's really only (and ever has been) the two lowest ranking ones. Unsurprising. I'd been told to expect that. I'm just ready to get down to my final number of chickens so they can stop running through their food every 2 days and their water in 4. I know a lot of you are used to having to feed more often than that but I enjoy my lazy chicken keeping lol. I fill their feeder about twice a week and the water once and they're good to go. All Ihave to do is provide snacks once in a while, admire them, and collect eggs
