well, for some reason I can't post photos, but I let the Dome Dwellers out for a few hours this afternoon. I took the risk and it was totally peaceful and lovely. I worked my butt off... I dug out about 25% of the Dome's deep litter. hauled the stinky black goodness to the compost area... 3 more days and i'll have it done.
tomorrow is also supposed to be sunny, but it should be the bantams turn... I could do some cleaning in their pens, take a break from digging. also the new furnace is being installed tomorrow, knowing that guys will be in and out from the Bilco doors to the backyard... best not to have Royce lurking.
I got bantam egg boxes. omg! they are so cute! I packed one up to bring as a gift to a friend tomorrow.

Someone came to take the ducklings for the weekend while I'm gone. She was going to take the pullet with the injury, but once seeing her, she agreed that I was right. That it's too bad to fix. I broke her neck a while ago, and now I am avoiding disposing of the body. I really did not like having to do that, and feel very sick about the whole thing. I'm pretty sure it's because of Brian, and also because the pullet is not my food.

so sorry MC, it's never easy... I hate leg injuries. if they can heal, it takes forever. if it can't... well, the alternative is so unpleasant, but best she not suffer.

W4W, phew! I slept great last night, but am so sore this morning, I'm taking an Epsom Salt bath. I can be a little late for work today, the new furnace is being installed. they won't be here til 8:30-9, and I have a friend coming so there will be someone here all day. even if she gets here early and I can leave at my normal time, I may milk it a bit. the mail was an hour late yesterday. too much standing around, I want me hour back.

Finally a nice day. I am getting rid of 2 of the chicks today *yay* putting me down to my 3 I am keeping. I painted part of my family room. I filled up my chicken feed containers. I threw down some grass seed. Hoping to test fly a kite I put a new bridle on last night...we'll see if I have time.
