Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

It will be beautiful again, lush and green...
The trip is still on, no real plans yet, but I expect it would be early spring.
I picked up the joint supplements, it's been exactly 4 weeks today since she couldn't walk unaided, and has used a walker for 3 weeks. Today, she was back to a cane.
I hope the trip plans fall into place!
It is great that the joint pills are helping

The next day, Oma had the MRI of her hip. She has a stress fracture! They had her doing PT w a broken hip...
It will heal on its own, barring a fall - she is forbidden to fall...
Wrangler's birthday party w her friends is this Saturday. I'm cleaning like a crazy person.

School Costume Ball, I did a better job on purpling up her hair for Halloween day...

She is so brave... I had MJ, in the purple coat, sitting on the bench too, but during the second that it took for the flash to get the photo, the guy moved - MJ took off and spun around - I'm surprised the photo isn't blurry!
Might have been cool if Wrangler was the only sharp part... We had a blast!

My DW was in a motorcycle accident and broke her wrist. She also severed a ligament on the other side from the broken bone. The Orthro Docs did not xray to find the problem for 7 weeks. During that time, She was going to Physical Therapy to get the joint moving...That was completely out of the joint and super painful. Everyone apologized after. The PT guy even said he knew something was wrong but had to leave it up to the Dr.s. She had surgery the day after finding the problem and then another 7 weeks in a cast.

Not to impressed with the whole system.

Poor Oma and DW.

Something similar happened to my 80 yr old g'ma. After a minor fall, she was complaining of terrible headaches. Her dr wasn't too concerned, so after a few days, my mom took her to the ER. They xrayed her neck and found nothing wrong. Mom looked at the xrays and saw they missed the top 3 vertebrae. She had to INSIST that they take more, and thank goodness she did. V3 was cracked all the way across... same break that paralyzed Christopher Reeve. Lucky for g'ma the halves hadn't separated, so she healed well with a neck brace.

Of all the diagnostic tests, xrays seem the simplest and the cheapest. No good excuse not to do a thorough job of it. But like I always say, there is a reason they call it practicing medicine.

Ron, does your wife still ride? My hubs just recently got a motorcycle, after almost 20 years without one (from when we had our first baby). Additionally, our 16 yr old just bought an older bike ('75 Honda CB360) as a project to fix up. He doesn't have his driver license yet (2 more weeks!) and will have to drive cleanly for a year before we will consider a motorcycle license, but I am still nervous about the idea. There seems to be a huge drop in the skill level of drivers on the road these days. They are also rude and drive too fast. I think taking drivers ed out of the schools is part of the problem, and the other is there are 3 times more people driving on the same roads. The rest of my hair is turning white just thinking about it!

Yes she does!

She is part of a Christian motorcycle club and rides with them a couple times a month. Members of her group are in accidents all the time. A Motorcycle safety course is a very good idea.

Drivers are getting much worse. I blame both the lack of Drivers Ed in schools and older immigrants that just do not get the rules here. Not making a right turn on a red light or left turn on a red light at a one way street is common and many do not understand an un protected stop light--one without a dedicated left turn cycle in the signal. I had one young adult honk and cuss me out when I was making a right when the light was green at an un protected left stop light. The Guy was making a left there so I had the right of way.

My Daughters will not let me ride a motorcycle. They do not want to lose both parents they say. They are very funny!

Absolutely. We see it down at the fairgrounds on some weekends.

They are very funny!
Kind of funny, kind of sad. :( My hub's brother rides with a group on the weekends, but his wife refuses. Few years ago he hit some gravel, and went over. Mess up his ankle really bad and damaged some ribs. Maui hospital sent him on a medic flight to big hospital in Honolulu since he required surgery for his ankle. That's when they discovered the broken ribs had punctured a lung. He almost didn't make it. He still rides too. In fact he blames his fall on his wife! that she was not riding on back to anchor the rear wheel better. All the other riders negotiated the gravel in the road and all of them had riders on back. Luckily, he was wearing a full helmet and padded jacket and gloves. Most guys in HI ride in shorts and flip flops, no helmet. Helmets aren't required there.

No helmet or leather gear freaks me out. I've witnessed an 18 wheeler blow a hydraulic valve and spray fluid all over the road. The motorcyclist was wearing only shorts...he was a smear.
Whittled down to quivering mass of exposed nerves. Lots of road bits embedded in the shredded muscle tissue. I know guys who have lost body parts - 1 plagued by chronic infections and multiple failed surgeries. Too many who have died.
Son Must Wear the Gear. Scrambles and hubby look so tough and gorgeous in all their leathers - I always wore mine...rant over...
And on to the next rant lol!
I'm pooped. Bday party yesterday morphed into a slumber party and I still have 1 kid here. Getting the runaround from the mom, which is annoying. Wrangler has reading, a Tuesday-night write that we always start on Sundays, and needs to take a shower... This kid is an eye opener...she dumped soda, walked right into the cake, smashed a glass vase, spit gum into another child's hair, was rooting around in the others party bags, sneaked into the pantry and ate about 40 pieces of Halloween candy...
Try to have a reasonable conversation with her and she gets all butthurt.
:eek::barnie:he

So much going on... with all of us I'm sure.
Duckling got glasses Friday. Her hair is hopefully going to be allowed to grow back. Boy cuts aren't for toddler girls.
Out of hens. I went to get chicks today, and returned empty handed. They had sold them in the few hours it took to get there.

No chicks for her to push in her cart.
