Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

No helmet or leather gear freaks me out. I've witnessed an 18 wheeler blow a hydraulic valve and spray fluid all over the road. The motorcyclist was wearing only shorts...he was a smear.
Whittled down to quivering mass of exposed nerves. Lots of road bits embedded in the shredded muscle tissue. I know guys who have lost body parts - 1 plagued by chronic infections and multiple failed surgeries. Too many who have died.
Son Must Wear the Gear. Scrambles and hubby look so tough and gorgeous in all their leathers - I always wore mine...rant over...
And on to the next rant lol!
I'm pooped. Bday party yesterday morphed into a slumber party and I still have 1 kid here. Getting the runaround from the mom, which is annoying. Wrangler has reading, a Tuesday-night write that we always start on Sundays, and needs to take a shower... This kid is an eye opener...she dumped soda, walked right into the cake, smashed a glass vase, spit gum into another child's hair, was rooting around in the others party bags, sneaked into the pantry and ate about 40 pieces of Halloween candy...
Try to have a reasonable conversation with her and she gets all butthurt.

Wow!

It is great that she gets to see how a functional family works though

The child and the irresponsible parent sure go together, don't they? :( pretty sad.

Yes, for sure, absolutely, full protective gear will be worn IF we ever let him ride! He found the oil leak and thinks it is nothing more serious than a leaky gasket. More trouble may be in the transmission... trouble shifting into 2nd gear. He may soon be learning more about motorcycles than he ever expected. :D

One night, everyone but a pair of SPR decided to stop sleeping in the coop. Then they all decided to stop sleeping on the property. They all came back to eat and lay eggs. Then just eat. Then they started disappearing.
I'm down to five of the boys, and they are leaving very soon.
Duckling got three bantam lavender Ameraucanas for her birthday. The good looking boy (Blaze) died unexpectedly this week. My best guess is that he caught a chill.
She isn't aware of the loss.
Had my turkey hatch out a duckling in the spring. It was eaten by a predator one evening. She got depressed, so she went back to where she came from. Duckling hasn't figured that out either.

Summer hills around here are usually brown with green trees. Now they are black with brown trees. :( First 2 are views from my patio. Earlier this summer, the gap between us and the neighbor had that huge dead standing pine. More relieved than ever that they had it cut down.

Next two are right behind the edge of the neighborhood. This was the second time firefighters set backfires to keep the worst of the flames away from the neighborhood houses which have their backyards right on the other side of the power poles. Too close for comfort. I am finding black charred leaves all over the property.

Last pic is a view of the hills closer to where my sister lives. The fires were very widespread. Our place and dad's farm are in the valley on the other side of those hills. We were really at the mercy of the winds. You can see several homes still standing in the burned area. The firefighters were amazing. We saw so many trucks, and most of them were from far away towns and even out of state. We feel so lucky that my whole family and 5 separate homes did not suffer any damage. I will have to get some more pics on a sunny day now that the smoke has cleared.

I know that many of the firefighters from Idaho and Spokane, WA went to Cali to help out. God Bless them

Ron, does your wife still ride? My hubs just recently got a motorcycle, after almost 20 years without one (from when we had our first baby). Additionally, our 16 yr old just bought an older bike ('75 Honda CB360) as a project to fix up. He doesn't have his driver license yet (2 more weeks!) and will have to drive cleanly for a year before we will consider a motorcycle license, but I am still nervous about the idea. There seems to be a huge drop in the skill level of drivers on the road these days. They are also rude and drive too fast. I think taking drivers ed out of the schools is part of the problem, and the other is there are 3 times more people driving on the same roads. The rest of my hair is turning white just thinking about it!
I stopped riding my motorcycle 2 years ago. Sadly, I have fibromyalgia fog. I know that if I kept riding, I’d go down and done. She still sits pretty in the garage, but I need to sell her. She’s beautiful!

Full leather gear while riding. Even when it’s 100 outside. Helmets too, although, I have been known to pack my helmet on the short ride home. Sometimes ya gotta live on the edge..... not any more.
