I was actually in this thread two days ago.

My youngest chicks are three weeks old. Two boys and three girls. The boys will be food. Duckling watched me hastily clean a hen a few months ago. It was my first alone, in the house and I was totally unprepared. The dog had just killed her, and I wasn’t wasting the meat. It didn’t go so well, but I have to try again. Duckling can’t wait. She enjoyed two meals of nuggets and strips, so I can at least say it wasn’t a complete loss. I did cook the rest, and let the dog have it.
