I’ve been buying eggs for the past 6 weeks. My biddies are molting and on the older side. Smoke is 9 and Rumples is 6. The other 3 are about 4 years old.

I hope I can make it to the new egg laying season! I did get one egg yesterday but the hours of daylight are getting too low for egg laying at my place too

Well... I’m sending back the mini bator. I ordered a bigger one. I may or may not get a dozen eggs, but Sheppard’s Ranch says that we can work something out. His hens are going into winter strike too.

We had some power outages here last nigh. We often do though after months of no rain. Dust forms a bridge between wires and blows the transformer

We had preemptive power shut offs for high wind days to prevent wildfire. What a pain! Just just got our first rain... such a relief. Still might lose power, but at least power company isn't turning it off for hundreds of thousands of people, just in case.
