Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

I got curious and decided to candle the Liege Fighter eggs. It’s day 4 and 2 of 3 show blood veins in them. The other has nothing in it.
I can’t see anything in the Cream Legbar or Barnevelder as my light isn’t bright enough.
Question: what is the best number of lumens for candling?

As High as you can get!

Also, using to lights, one on top and one at the bottom, will help see into the egg

Marans and a lot of Olive egger eggs are nearly impossible to see into!

@BullChick Really. I will give it the sniff test tomorrow.
I can see tiny embryos in two of the eggs
The others are too dark, there is a bit of veining that I can see in a few.

Usually it takes a week or two for eggs to smell bad. Often even duds will be ok and not rot to the point of smelling

Even if you cannot see far into the egg, you should still be able to see cracks. I toss them if I see cracks.

With dark eggs, you look for increasing darkness after day 7 to lockdown. If towards lockdown you see an egg glowing or getting lighter, it is likey a dud

For some reason, incubating my own eggs makes me feel in awe. Seeing the embryos. Wow!

Seeing life inside the eggs is a real Joy!
