Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Yes, my apartment overlooked a huge tomato field. Took a lot of self control to not get samples!
One time the field caught fire. Memory is fuzzy, but they must have alternated crops in the field because this was grass fire... 18 inch high dry straw. I heard it before I saw it, lots of crackling. Took the fire dept a long time to get there since Cowell Rd was actually in 2 sections and they weren't sure where to go! Got it out quickly once they got there.

The most dangerous crop for fires is safflower! We had a field close to us go up when I was groing up.

They let it dry out before harvesting and the swather hit a rock causing a spark. Dad made us go onto the roof to hose it down. It worked and the house was fine!

Yes but not the worst of course yours was bad with fire!

We were going to visit my Mom and Dad in Redding when there was a fire going over the freeway towards their place. As we went down the hill, we were stepping through pink and even saw a bomber make a drop a bit away from us. We got to them and helped them move to my Sisters place further south. Dad was not doing well with MS.

My Brother stayed and walked around with water in a bucket putting out embers that hit the landscape bark. Luckily the roof is tile and the walls stucco so the embers did not catch.

California is so fun during fire season!

I am not looking forward to this year, especially with the complication of the virus. Personally, I am getting pretty sick of this virus.

The virus and what is happening with it is terrible! I am getting very tired of working from home.

With the lack of rain and the heat already it is shaping up to be a very bad fire year

I think we know how to protect ourselves by this time and the decision of how to live should be up to us. All resources should go to protecting elderly and people with preexisting conditions. Economy is suffering and will be even worse after the riots... there won't be any resources if this keeps up. Things are looking pretty crazy. Very glad I don't live in a city.

I think Woodland is about the perfect size of a City to not have too many of the problems that big cities have.

I am hoping that the economy recovers better than predicted and not be a 10 year process.

NPR had a segment today that said the Rodney King riots took some places 10 years to recover. The burnt out places will be a mess for a long time.

Hopefully no burnt out places here!

Ron, I got an alert on my phone that Santa Rosa (near me) now has a curfew! 8pm-5am. craziness
I wonder if there is any connection to the nation wide virus lockdowns and the extent of the riots... people have become bored being cooped up with nothing to do, so...?
Protesters I don't mind when there is a good reason for it, but the rioting and looting is unacceptable. I hope it doesn't take 10 years.

There is likely some connection between the riots and shelter in place. It causes a lot of stress both financially and emotionally to be stuck at home...and home can be a bad place for many

Surprise!! One of my hatched pullets is officially a Ayam Cemani. Breeder confirmation. She will only lay about 80 eggs per year at most, but she is an unexpected treasure.
