Surprise!! One of my hatched pullets is officially a Ayam Cemani. Breeder confirmation. She will only lay about 80 eggs per year at most, but she is an unexpected treasure.

You gotta squeeze them and check for foam! Cots do not feather sex well at allSurprise, I uncovered eggs in my bachelor pad of last year’s quail. I apparently thought wrong when I thought all the girls were gone.

I crushed a lot, and didn’t look too hard for more. I emptied that pen.

That is funny!Yesterday I saw that a SPR had returned to laying. It was in the broody cage, so Duckling went in for it. She said there was another behind the cage, so I moved the cage. 19 eggs later...I guess the sheet on the cage was blocking my view of the corner.
Too Funny! Now that I have eggs again, I’m out of things to make the dishes I wanted.![]()
Congratulations!View attachment 2214110View attachment 2214110View attachment 2214110View attachment 2214110 Another SPR has returned to laying. As of last night, the chicks (4-wks) are already getting up to the roost. It’s 4’ up, so I am guessing that it took a lot of determination, and jumping on things.
