Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

my girls are the biggest fakers since Roger, Carl and Chuck!

they take turns... seriously... lined up waiting to be next...

Usually starts with Wilma. she comes to my feet. she looks up and baaawks. she turns around in 2 Majorette Stomping Steps, BOOM BOOM! and squats.
gets all kinds of puffy, really cute, i do love it...
Then it's Betty's turn. She does the exact same thing. What's with the stomping???
Blu is a little more lady like... she comes up on my side, she likes to squat in my lap, so Rose figures I have a free hand, and she takes the front spot...

Royce is maturing nicely and has taken renewed interest in the girls, but he is no Barney (thank goodness!) he's quite graceful actually and since the girls are pretty much ready, there is no tussle, he just wraps his wings around them. wish he had a beard and muffs... I really want to use the younger boys for breeding...

All that squatting and not one egg. though it will be soon, they are just now 22 weeks.
They sound happy and ready to lay. You are doing the "chicken dance" with them every morning and every afternoon......right? Be sure the music is turned up loud.

Quote: I would die if I had to wait that long! i could be mean, and say THEY would, but then I would have to get more chicks, and the waiting would start all over again!

Hang in there!
I told DH I was going to teach the girls the chicken dance when I first got chickens. In fact, I think I said it the day I saw them, HAD to have them, and was told I knew nothing about chickens. Then i got my babies ... 5 boys and a girl. Still want to teach them the Chicken Dance!

Omg you guys crack me up, been reading this post for the past five hours...my husbands going to shoot me because it's three am, but you guys are better reading than any book. I would totally buy my son a book of your rhythms with illustrations of pies and rooster dogs etc...

Goodnight and keep it coming :)

DID YOU SAY 5 BOYS AND A GIRL? You better teach your baby girl karate instead of how to dance

Its whats for breakfast......PIE.....The question was "Who ever wants pie go to the right side of the run. Who ever wants pancakes go to the left side of the run" The pie won by a 5 to 2 vote. Miss Broody decided not to vote. Roger voted pancakes because she decided to be a "B" today. Chuck was still half asleep and didn't understand the question. The pie lasted about as long as a snowball in hell.

I did not give them pie
No, they will not die!
I got up at six
And what did I fix?
Hot oatmeal with apples and raisins
They ran for the dish without tazin' (you find a word that rhymes with raisin! tazer guns can be found in a coop!)
They gobbled and they cooed
They loved the food!
I kinda wanted some too
But what could I do?
They are my babies!
There are no "maybe"'s
They get the best
While I get the rest

Seems Roger has decided to practice the "peacock scream" today. I can hear her from inside the house. The "B" is not getting pancakes! Excuse me while I go threaten her with my karate skills.
