Yay Cheeka/Wilma!! I got my first egg a few days ago (Sunday). I have been a silent participant in this thread for a few weeks now. Made me feel better about how long it was taking.

my friends were bummed they didn't get video of me dancing around in the yard with the egg and shaking my container of safflower and sunflower seeds...! Frankly, I'm glad they didn't

then I was throwing the seeds all over the place for my gang to devour! it's so cool!!!

The chickens are loving the pumpkin.

Then my DH put 4" of grass clippings in the run. Now THAT they love! Red was really getting into it! I was in there for about ten minutes, and he never got up. Even when I went to pick him up, he got up, moved a few feet, and dug down in. The spot they are in here is where most dust baths happen. Must be a mental thing, because they manged to find their hole even with all the grass on top.


Does that dog not realize that Penny is staring back at him? He must because he jumped back a minute later. The chicks were cool with him. Now that they are bigger than him, he is more cautious of them. See the red hen in the grass behind Red? He buried her! It was so funny! I was talking to them, thinking she had gotten up, when I saw her feet poking out of a grass pile! She rolled over, and I saw him start kicking around, and bury her again.
