Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

lol, he gave the dog fleas... that's funny...

I'm agreein' with all y'all... it's enough already...

animallover, you are a youngin', so ... don't make assumptions in life... we all do, but we shouldn't... so, for example, when you ask someone for a drink of water, you are really asking for "clean, cold, potable water, in a glass, brought to me in a reasonable amount of time" if you take people for granted, and take advantage... and then follow up with assumptions, your likely to be handed a glass of water scooped from the potty...!

Gotta love that sense of humor..OK. cheeka , you know you can't find the right one when you're with the wrong one huh. Nothing from nothing leaves nothing, you gotta have something. Besides, your too independent and creative, and mature for such games. Interesting ad on the page...eddiebauer has some cute winter boots perfect for town and driving and such...my ariats are warm but don't have enough tread for ice. Well, they have alot of fermented feed slopped on them too....it would be easier to buy a new pair than wash them. Does anybody know where those ads go, they move! Now they have ugs up. Appropriate name.

the mucks aren't that expensive really, they are on sale... they'd last me forever... my Sorrels are so old, and yet are perfect, for snow shoveling anyway, they are so heavy. I have Skechers winter boots too...and galoshes, and big ole bright yellow rubber boots that my work boots fit inside of... there are lots of winter/sloppy weather wear items here, necessary for the 6 months of winter we usually have... it's supposed to snow tomorrow... hope it kills the rest of the fleas out there! dog is clean, and the carpet and chairs and couch are vacuumed! I didn't find anymore fleas, but any eggs are toast,

hemmin' and hawin' over whether or not to place the order... do I really need them??? I could save the $$ for something else, like Pie ingredients...!

So bye-bye BH!

Hope your little pug is all clean and shiny. We haven't had fleas around here since the cat disappeared almost a year ago. Dogs started scratching last week, and sure enough, fleas. Put some of that flea killer stuff on both, but it was too late. Bell is seriously allergic, and she chewed several large patches on her hip before I caught her. A little Benedryl, lots of Bactine, and much supervision to keep her from chewing, and it's now healing. Saved a big vet bill, but she's got a hairless area about as long as my hand. And that's saying something, because I have big man-hands!

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. My dad and sis came for dinner, then my brother dropped by with a friend and a homemade cheesecake. Despite some hard times, we have been very fortunate and so have much to be thankful for. The weather has been lovely this week, the grass growing, and the chickens happy.

5 eggs today, and 6 each of the last three days.

I think about posting here from time to time, but I get busy or distracted or feel shy about it. I wanted to share the story of my buff orp who decided that she should lay a shell-less egg on the top rung of the roost and fell off in the process, and many other stories, but just never got around to it. Need to take a moment to share/vent, and since I am at work and nobody is calling, it seems now is the time to play along.

I have seven girls. Three of which are laying and the other four are playing the part of a moocher. The four are younger than the three, but they are reaching an age where this is no longer an excuse. Ruby and Nox (RIR and Blue Andalusian), are now 24 weeks, very red, and have been squatting for Henry (aka "Chicken Soup"), for some time now. Nox even walks around singing the egg song. At first I took that to be a good sign, but three weeks later I had to tell her that she sings off key. Ruby looks ready but she isn't squatting or singing. I have followed this thread closely and have given them a fodder cake (I am not so good at pie so I said, "Let them eat cake"), with scratch and pumpkin frosting and meal worm sprinkles (sprinkles makes everything better). I have written them poetry (very bad poetry, but it's the thought that counts right?) I have eaten KFC in front of them (they wanted a bite and I haven't done that since. Cannibals!), complimented them, given them treats...what is a chicken mom to do!?! The other two, are EE's and are 21.5 weeks. They are the babies and my favorites so they have time. They still cuddle with me. Pearl jumps into my lap just to cuddle. She refuses to take treats from me. Opal has figured out the treat dispenser but unlike the older girls, she will sit in my lap to get them. So my EE's have a pass because I like them. Ruby and Nox, have been known as the "Psycho Sisters" since they were a few days old. It was amusing for a while, but they are really crazy. Ruby was on the roof of the coop yesterday, which was funny because it is really steep and it was like a chicken treadmill for her. Well, now you know my woes.

Regarding the ads the companies pay a price for advertising in those spaces. It is based on "clicks". You buy so many "clicks" for a certain amount of time. When you click on one of those ads it is counted. If the company doing the advertising is not getting the clicks they paid for it will remain in that position or a better position until they get the clicks they paid for. Once they recieve the clicks they paid for the ad is moved and another advertiser is moved to the position so they can get what they paid for. So basically they are renting those spaces to advertise their product and when the time is up they have to move.

I got my Muck boots at Bass Pro Shop. Best money I ever spent. As long as I can afford a pair I will never do without them.

Cheeka... you ok?
thanks, I'm fine... it's nothing new, long distance relationships are hard to say the least. we've been going round and round for 6 years. I stopped crying over him some 4+ years ago. he's very immature, 54 year old in body, 13 years old in mind

hoping that the mail isn't late to arrive today. rumor has it that the mail handlers union is about ready to strike. they are moving deliberately slowly, holding up all the trucks that bring the mail to the individual offices, sometimes by an hour and a half... makes it impossible to get finished on time... another double route for me today, I just want to finish before dark.
