6 monthsIs this shipping like through the postal service? Or a 3 day long road trip? There’s no way a bird would handle a 3 day trip in a box without food/water; that’s why chicks are shipped next day air. If it’s a road trip where he’ll be in a crate where you can make sure he’s upright id do a small fish of food and water, to minimize the mess as it spills, and expect him not to eat much. If you’re mailing him you need to spring for next day air and, while I have no experience with shipping birds (ive shipped snakes and fish) typically you don’t feed before you ship but have water available. That way there’s less mess because he won’t poop as much. There’s really no way to send water as far as I know. How old is this rooster?

I'd do some serious due diligence first...especially during summer.
What shipper are you using...do they have any advice/guidelines??

He won't die...I am shipping adult Plymouth Rocks across the country from a guy who has been shipping adult birds for yearsHe's gonna die if you ship him, just so you understand.
