My two chinese geese are still somewhat loud when my family and I go outside so we are thinking of buying them a hood like one for a falcon is this a good idea?

No they will not like it and will probably freak them out. You have the breed that is loud not much you can do about it. Chinese are kept for many reason and a lot of folks like that they are good watch geese which means they sound a warning with anything different is around. When they see ya'll they are excited that is probably why they sound off when you all come outside.

Please don't think that I'm yelling at you or that I'm telling you that you doing something wrong because you are trying to learn how to take care of your poultry and that is always a good thing and it's wonderful that you are reaching out to this community. :hugsBut you already started a thread about wanting to quiet noisy geese and were told that there really isn't much you can do. If you have a type of dog that has a tendency to bark (like my beloved Yorkshire Terriers), there are some techniques that may help them to bark quite as much, but they will still bark more than the quieter breeds because it is just in their nature to bark. At. Every. Little. Thing. (Sigh. Though moving to a quiet dead-end street in the country has helped immensely!)

Some geese breeds are extra noisy, like Chinese geese. If you can't deal with their noise level, then maybe you should think about rehoming them and getting male ducks, because their raspy quacks are very quiet and an all-male group of ducks makes excellent pets.

(P. S. Hoods aren't to really keep falcons from making noise, it's more to keep them calm and not getting startled and trying to lash out or try to attack with their very sharp and strong talons and beaks.)

Yeah I mean I thought that maybe they would just waddle around happy and calm with the hood

If you put a hood on your geese they would be blind. Unable to see to eat, walk or avoid dangers. Birds of prey are only hooded under certain conditions. Its not an all day thing. Honestly if the birds are too noisy for you rehoming them is best.
