This discussion is 5 years old but I'm not done with it yet. First and foremost how is poultry raising not a part of growing up and becoming a "man"? It's the most mature thing ever! First your being self sufficient by growing your own food and having a healthier lifestyle, Seconed every poultry raiser are biological and ecology experts even though some may not realise it and lastly your outside a lot and it requires strength to do. That sounds like becoming a better man. It's ten million times better than playing video games all day. If your still raising chickens great! If your still confused tell your mother it is a guide to manhood. The two key things about this poultry hobby/lifestyle in becoming a "man" or "independent women" is your getting smarter,stronger and healthier. Yeah you might have school but I learned to balance them both. Good luck and I hope you find or at this point found the right decision.
