Should I Harvest or Sell?

We're at the very north end of Sacramento County. I don't know of any places that buy roosters. I know that the employees take home the chicks that don't sell, but that's it. We have the option of a decent livestock auction that does poultry twice a month, and there are a couple of places that do the processing. Right now, the boys are not allowed access to the hens or the younger birds. They sure try to get at them, though. They'll actually run at the door to the other enclosure, and try to push it open. We're just waiting for a call back to schedule a time to take them in.

I couldn't buy an organic bird for less than what the processing fee would be.

If organic meat is important to you, seems processing them is the answer.

If you are expecting and sick, just sell them, next year you can process the roosters you get if you want to. Just get these out of your way! You have enough on your hands.
