Should I help this chick hatch or it is ok?

I've only been giving lil man the Duramycin- no other chicks. I've done that twice a day since he hatched to hopefully ward off any infection from having to cut off his ruptured yolk sac and having to push his intestines back in, and tying his abdomen back together with a string! There were a lot of ways bacteria could get to him because of all of that. I didn't have it as his main source though. I would let him sip on 3-5ml's in the morning and again in the evening before I went to bed. I fed him the boiled egg yolk for the 1st 2 days (little amounts) and didnt feed that to him last night because I think he eats enough of the chick start now. Anyways, I will give him some yogurt today. How much do you think? I just worry about stopping the duramycin as I wont know if he gets an infection till he starts acting different and then it might be too late for the antibiotics :-/ Then again since it hasnt been his sole water source and maybe he wasnt getting as much as he should have been and he is doing just fine, then maybe there is no infection to fight off..? It was just a precaution. My husband says that an antibiotic is an antibiotic and if he has a chance of surviving this he needs it.

The chick that had internally pipped yesterday pretty much rested all night without much activity at all then about 8 this morning it decided to zip and zipped itself right outta there! Its doing great!

Lil Man cracks me up!! I went in to give him a little bit of the boiled egg yolk and when i went to get him to open his beak he shook his head then started eating the yolk right out of my hand lol
as if to say.. "you dont have to do that, Look! I'll eat it, OK?" haha! He did the same thing with the syringe of antibiotic.. drank it right out of the bottom of the syringe :) im afraid i just love that lil guy!! he and 1 other chick will peep really loudly sometimes and if I go in there they will hop in my hand and they like to snuggle up to my neck just under my chin

then theyre happy after that. I'll put them back and they will either go to sleep or start eating :)

Still have 3 rockers! (not ip yet tho!)

I candled the rest and found something really bazarre.. remember, i had about 7 that looked great except that they hadnt internally pipped. Well when i candled today i used a different flashlight and i could see better. All of the air sacs are in place, with no ip..however in about 5 of them, the bottom half of the egg also glowed! In one of those, I could see a tiny lil baby moving around in the upper half, the dark part of the egg!! I called my husband in the room and i was like look at this! It shouldnt be divided like this to where I can see up into the egg with the top half dark and not the bottom half... so then he says.. heather this chick looks tiny like its not as far along and its probably split like that across the egg because you havent been turning them! OMG!!!!! Is that what has happened? Is that why that tiny tiny chick was in that egg that i took a picture of, dead? since WHEN do hens lay new eggs in a nest box where their babies are due in just a few more days?!?!!!! Of those 5 or so, this was the only one where I could see a baby moving but its like, stuck in the upper half of the egg when its laid on its side. What NOW?? I didnt see movement in the others but I left them all in there to see if something might be alive in them and i will just start turning them all again. Will this one baby be ok having not been turned at all in at least a week now?? And will it be able to grow or is it too late and its stuck in only half of the egg???

right when I thought this hatch was coming to an end... I now find THIS!!!!

it is possible that another hen could have added some eggs to the nest where she was already sitting.. and she just added them to her clutch..

usually when i find an egg that is clear at the bottom it's a late death (around day 10 - 16) .. but you said you saw chicks moving around in there?

i know that turning is more important in the beginning of a hatch instead of later .. that's why you can bring in eggs and not be sure of lock down and get away with not turning them sooner and still have a good hatch

Yes, definite movement in one of them that looked like that. Will turning it from now on make a difference or is it stuck in half the egg and it will die when as it continues to grow?

That sweet little trill or singing sound comes from a happy little bird. Their little "chirp chirp" noise is made when they're content and eating or bobbing around. If it is loud and sharp sounding, they're scared or something is off in their environment, such as the temperature. Isn't that singing sound so cute and sweet? I love when they do that.

hey.. go ahead and turn it so long as it doesnt screw up your humidity.. since we dont know when it started incubation.. it's not going to kill it any.. i have seen where some people have had eggs hatch IN the turners because they forgot they were due for lockdown

But will it always be stuck in one side of the egg?

REALLY?!?!?!?!??!??!!??!

Is there anything else that can go wrong with hatching chicks that HASN'T happened to me this week?!?!!??!?!!!

I think this can be fixed with stints but I cant seem to find that page again that tells you how to make them... Has anyone dealt with this before or have a really good website in mind with information and step-by-step instructions on what to do?

Will making the stints permanently fix her toes?
