Should I just throw them away?

So I have been opening the bator and misting the eggs like I was told to do but, last night, I was so tired I forgot to close them up again.

*sob*

So are they all dead now?

I closed it up and they are warm again but they were without heat - house is set at 70 - for 7 hours.

Should I just toss them to the pigs or press on?

Do not toss them.  If fertile and developing, they should still be viable.

Two nights ago 11 of the 13 candled as good eggs so I was gutted to find I had done something so bloody stupid.

Shall press on with them and cross my fingers.

OMG! Three DAYS early and they are pipping in the turner!

Out of 11 eggs we got 6 beautiful ducklings. If I had left the lid off chicken eggs they would have been pig food. Duck eggs are sooooo forgiving!

Pipping early is not a good thing because they were still in the turner and, because I had to mess with them at that point many of the eggs that didnt hatch died because of it. All but one had fully formed ducklings in the eggs so that was sad.

Still, 6 ducklings are 6 more than we had.

Oh, and we have a duck sitting on 25 eggs right now. My youngest son said she is like something from a horor movie if you get too close!
