Should I keep the Brown Leghorns / Welsummers / WHAT ELSE?

But when I look up welsummers online, they can have yellow legs. SO CONFUSED!

It's so funny when we go out to the pen...we get the lil BR chicks coming right to the side..a couple just stand there wanting to be picked up then refuse to hop out of your hand...these chipmunks just fly all over the place...freaky lil birds!!

Ooh, add me to the list that doesn't like the white leghorns. I have 4 and they are irritating. They'll come running up for treats, but God forbid I reach for one. They go nuts and freak out all the others, too. I have an idea my other chicks would be much sweeter/calmer if the WL weren't around.

I have 1 white leghorn. She is flighty HOWEVER she was attacked by a hawk twice!!! Her crop was ripped opened during the second attack and I had to sew her up. My 4 other bird were there too but the hawk got her! If I have a treat she comes running. Trying to get her in the coop is another story, my husband stands by the coop door ready to open it and I walk behind her toward him. It takes a few times around the outside of the coop but she finally goes in. She is my best layer.

Sorry GiddyMoon: I gave incorrect information.

Mine started out with pinkish legs, but they are definately yellow now (1/2 grown). Went to the coup when I got home tonight to check. I too think you may have Welsummers!

As far as the yellow chicks, they could well be white leghorns if they are clean solid yellow. Again, hard to tell until they grow some. The whitish yellow chicks in my photo are light colored Ameraucaunas. You should have some pretty eggs though, whether dark brown and white, or dark brown and green. No matter what, you will enjoy your flock.
