Walgreens drugstores has a clinic, not sure if they take our insurance, but that would be better than the ER. I think tomorrow I will put some icthamol on it and see if I can draw anything out . Then clean it with betadine, alchohol , take a swig from my Jack Daniels and stick a needle in it to see if I can get anything out.

I'm the do-it-myself type with most things, atleast until I figure I can't deal with whatever it is. I don't know anything about staph infection, butdo some research. What makes you think that there is something underneath of it? I had a puncture wound in my arm (through the skin, atleast a half inch deep. As it healed, it had a hard "ball" in it, underneath the skin, slight pain when I moved it. Are you describing more of a scab-type texture? Hey, how about pics?

If it is warmer than the rest of your skin, it is more than likely infected. If the redness has grown by morning, don't put your health at risk - go to the doctor.

I wish I had some of that freeze spray my orthopedic DR keeps, if I had that I could perform surgery on my leg and not feel it.

I have prescription Lidocaine cream. One hour and you're all numb. Wish I were close enough to help.
