Should I not have bird feeders for wild birds??

Truth is this feeding wild birds around free range chickens can help you and hurt you. your birds will be more open to disease and mites/lice and such. However alot of your song birds if you will will also Protect your flocks from air attacks. as there very territorial and will push hawks away from there areas. Blue jays Crows ravens and the lot can and will snatch eggs and baby chicks here and there. and sparrows might torment dogs cats and chickens. But more so then not there benificial to have around. (If you free range already)

Before I got my chickens, I had quite a few bird feeders out back. Birds, squirrels, wild turkey and deer all ate from them. However, so did raccoons. Now that I have chickens I do not want the raccoons anywhere around, so I have moved the bird feeders out front to divert the raccoons.
