Should I not let them do this?

Mine slept on the ground all huddled up, and a few of them were in nest boxes. After about 2.5 weeks, they figured out the roosts. They've been out in the coop for about 3.5 weeks now and last night was the first time I saw every single chick up on the roosts. They were still all piled together, though. Pretty cute. I bet yours will figure it out.
 
Yeah, I suspect they'd appreciate a bit of extra warmth at night, as they are still quite young and 40s is pretty cool. If it were me I'd do that, e.g. hang a low-wattage breakage-protected lightbulb (NOT heatlamp) above the roost) and block off the nestboxes.
