Should I paint my duck barn?

Hello.

I was wondering if I should paint the barn we will be using for the ducks. See pic below.

it would be a national tradgety! that barn is beautifull. Those batton board barns last as long as they do because the wood is preserved by the sun and weathering

Plua if you painted it, it would soak up gallons of paint and it would be half peeled off next year

If you want to brighten it mabye try researching old style white wash

That’s a pretty cool barn. Paint might help to preserve it, though. Even a white wash. Lucky ducks!

I would definitely paint it:

• The roof with a dark green non-water based paint to prevent the tin from further rusting
• The large surfaces with red barn and fence paint (very affordable)
• The vertical and diagonal studs with white

Just the classic barn design…
