should I return this waterer????

I was worried about my newly hatched chicks getting into their chick waterer (watched one try to walk through it), so I purposely went and bought the quail base. It worked great.

I'd keep it. It's only $2 and you can put the plastic top or jar that you use with the quail base onto the chick base when you move up a size (in a few weeks).

I agree this is the ONLY thing I put in with the baby chicks 1 day -1 week old, then they graduate up... i still put glass beads in the quail waterer caus they TRY to get into it. They say the reason they try this is because the want the warmth and wetness they had when they were in the egg back

I use the quail waterer for my newly hatched chicks because it is too small for them to get in and drown. After a few days I switch to a chick waterer.

Wow, thank you everyone! I was afraid they wouldn't be able to get to the water, lol. I feel much better now, and I think I will keep it for a while and then just graduate them up.
