Hope this is in the right section. Does everyone trim the Silkies fluffy butts? I have one that was trimmed when I got her. Is this a must?
Hate to take away their beauty, but I want chicks!

Someone told me that serious breeders will trim the butt fluff on their hens and rooster to increase fertility. But the only time i trim back there is when someone is having a sticky poo problem. Other than that, i think seeing their fluffy butts waddling away is just too darn cute.

I am waiting to see if I have a good fertility rate, if I do, then I will leave their fluffy butts.

Idont trim my.
but if i see some mess i use baby wipes to clean them up. and all
my feathered footed cochins look might pretty.and from 6 last year to 35 this year they have been doing a great job.

I would rather not trim mine, so I am going to wait until I put their eggs in the bator and can candle them to check fertility.
