I live in the N/W Corner of Arkansas and My Turkeys have not started laying yet but this is my first year with Turkeys.Do they lay year round in Arkansas or they seasonally here too...i just acquired some that are a little over a year old and also do they lay on ground or do you need to place a brush pile in the pen with them to make a nest?
What part of Arkansas do you live there could be a big difference between were I live and say Texarkana at the very southern point of the state.
I know the weather here is so much different in temps from say Fort Smith by 8 to 10 degrees Summer and Winter.
Its hard to get Turkeys to Lay were you want some times a Laying box 2 foot by 2 foot with straw or wood chips and out of the way to make her feel hidden and a Fake egg in the nest would not hurt eather this will show her were to lay and might do the trick.
If she lays them all over the place you could pick them up and place them in the nest and see if she sets on them as a good broody Mom would if not you might have to Incubate them your self.
Good luck Arkie
