Our temperatures are starting to drop. This week we range from mid 50s overnight and mid-high 60s in the daytime.
The chicks are 5 weeks and almost ready to sleep outside (still sleeping inside but in the run all day) but I’m curious if I should cover the run bottom half as well with plastic because of our winds.
Some days our winds are 20-30 mph winds.
So it would be 60ish temps with 20-30 mph winds

Thoughts?

I already have the windward side covered just as a wind-break. Adults can handle both the wind and temps, but your young-uns might be better off for it. Leaving the other sides open is fine until things really do seriously drop.
Thank you this is helpful! They’re barely getting used to being in the run all day and the winds aren’t helping 😅 I will get on covering at laeast the windward side
