Should You Feed The Foxes?

So I own chickens, and I was wondering should you feed foxes? I live in the woods and we have a really bad raccoon infestation and I was planning on shooting them this year, and feeding them to the foxes. Is this a smart idea? Would the foxes come back and kill my chickens instead?

Yes, yes they would. Just bury the raccoons. They will feed the ground.

ETA: if you decide to bury them do bury them as far away from your chickens as possible. But as someone else said if you have a small property just get rid of them some other way.

I would say yes to feed the raccoons to the foxes. Put them far away from the chickens but if you live on a small property I would just get rid of them.

Rabies is just one reason not to.
There are a lot more diseases that can be transmitted even after death.

If you feed them more will come as well.


Yeah just bury the dead raccoons....and wear disposable gloves too.
Maybe check with the division of wildlife for their recommendations too.

Any animal once you feed them they will just come back looking for more easy food.
