When I brought home my first pair of peafowl last month, yearling black shoulders, my 3 year old son was so happy. I took him over to their new pen to show him. He looked at them and said, "that's not the kind of peacock I was talking about". I laughed and said he wouldn't have his big feathers, as he calls them, until next year. Every day he asks, "does the peacock have his big feathers yet"? So, I called Doug at D&M and asked if he would be around Tuesday afternoon. I took my boy over and he got to see all his beautiful mature birds and they were really displaying and calling. He wanted a feather and Doug went into the house and brought him out some feathers. Now I have one happy little boy and Doug really made a friend. He wanted to put the feathers in his bed with him but mom talked him into putting them in a flower pot. He likes to take some out and show his big brother and sister his feathers and lets them know that they are his feathers! Thanks Doug.

Yes Great person ......Makes my day too ....when you can light up a childs eyes with a few peacock feathers........i have never sold any , but have gave many thousands away.....the joy of sharing them means alot more than the money....

Sure soom breeders at swap meets ,may not be happy with me, as they are set up selling a few, mine are there free.........Of all the years of raising peafowl, i have yet to take money for a single feather.

Doug is one of the best for sharing info ,and etc. never one just out to make a fast buck off his birds........[IMG] you rule Doug !!!!!!!

[IMG] I have to throw out a shoutout also. Doug has taken the time to answer several of my stupider questions so that I didn't have to bug everyone on the forum, much appreciated!

[IMG] way to go! There's nothing better than making a kid light up!
I already have a list of people who want feathers. I keep telling them it's going to be a couple more years, but I'll have some eventually for them!

Doug is the best and has wonderful info. I have gotten a couple of peas shipped in from Texas to Ohio and they all have arrived A-1 shape. Love the pictures at the website too, must be like a mini paradise there. [IMG]
