So, I have two different feather-type Wyandotte’s, one line has the “Slow growth feather” gene and the other line has the the “rapid feather growth” gene. I know that rapid feather growth breed males bred to slow growth feathering breed females will throw feather sex-able chicks, is it the same way with lines of Wyandotte’s?
Thanks!

One line is blue laced red and is from north star poultry in Montana and my other line is silver laced that comes from shamrock in Wisconsin.

Well in that case you could also do silver gold sexlinks with a blw over silver! But you probably already knew that. Which is slow, which is fast?

Yeah, the BLRW’s have the slow feathering and the SLW’s have the fast feathering. Good idea though, I knew someone who made that cross (using a splash laced red roo), the pullets come out blue laced gold and the cockerels come out blue silver laced with some red leakage.
