So I added their calcium grit a few minutes ago. But its ugly lol Im looking for cute ideas that will hold their calcium and granite grit. Right now im temporarily using plastic dishes screwed into the wood but looking for cuter ideas.

I have a large one of these rabbit J feeders but Im leery they will dig it out and waste it because Id have to have it fairly low to the ground due to the 2 tiny bantam hens. If this would work, id happily buy another to match for both types of grit.

Also if either grit gets wet but has a way to drain water, is that ok? Does the calcium grit dissolve? Asking because Id like to keep both grits outside in their run and even tho theres a tarp over the top.. rain always finds a way in lol

Ty my chickie friends :)

I use a container similar to this one. Keep grit in one, and Oyster shells in other. It is in a covered run free from rain. If you will keep yours in rain prone area, then just drill some small drain holes on the bottom.:idunno
Grit or oyster shells are UNAFFECTED by water.

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,:highfive:

I use 40 ounce pails that I got at TSC. Oyster Shells in one and Poultry Grit in the other.
I removed the handle and hang with a eye screw. Twist the screw to hold up or remove.
I install in a corner inside or outside with the bottom resting on a cinder block.

20180718_091524.jpg . I drilled 3/32 holes in the bottom to drain moisture. 20190611_093006.jpg . I also use the 60 ounce pails for water. GC

I just throw my grit on my run dirt. Let them have fun .
Mine are to young for os .I'm going to make a tube feeder using 1 1/2 pvc feeder to match my food feeders and waterer.
My not be cute but it matches everything

No picture but a cheap stainless dog food bowl from the dollar store with 10 small holes drilled in it to let out water and a screw into a 2x12 about 15" long so the wankers won't stand on the bowl lip and throw it everywhere.

They love construction sand we have too and eat the large grit from it also.
