My coop has a divider wall made of chicken wire with a doorway - one side has the roosts and nest boxes and the other is mostly storage, and the chickens have access to both. When I have chickies or a mama hen with babies, I'll use a puppy exercise pen to portion off part of the storage side for them. The one sick chicken I've had recently was having laying issues, so she stayed in our laundry room and later our garage until she was well enough to go back to the coop (where she stayed in a bunny cage on the non-roosting side until completely recovered); since she wasn't contagious, I figured she would be fine as long as the others couldn't peck at her.

This is interesting. But I don't see any outside, fresh air places in your set up?

We have our winter panels up, but it's normally open air.
