My husband made this one for me a short time ago. It is 3' x 6'. I have 1 roo and 5 hens in it.
However, I am looking to buy a cage that would be good for a breeding trio or quad, or even 2 breeding pairs. Does anyone know where I could purchase something decent?? I am not handy and would feel bad asking hubby considering this one was just done.
This is our quail pen. It is a partially enclosed 12'x 21' metal carport, which has 4 cages we built along the sides. The bottoms are sloped with a gap in front to allow the eggs to roll out for easy collecting. The feed troughs are in front just above the egg slots, with the cage wire pinched in to allow their heads to go through to eat. The bantams in the pen keep it very very clean.
This piece of 6" plumbing pipe is a prototype. We're trying to come up with a way for us to leave large amounts of feed for the birds when we're away for the weekend, and secondly for the chickens to GET OUT of the feed troughs! So far, it's working...

The building is one of those metal carports, the cages, we made out of 1x2 hardware cloth with 1/2" cloth on the bottom. We did all of this 5 years ago before hurricane katrina, so when we built it again 9 months ago, we made sure to build them the way we wished we had the first go-round.
