I was wondering.. what are the white panels that you are using for cages... how did you make those.?
I'm not the owner to that pic but it looks very much like shelving you'd find at a hardware/home improvement store. Lots of folks who keep finches tend to use that stuff to make large aviaries or flight pens. Far cheaper to make their own, than buying cages built for the job.

Here is my first crack at keeping quail. Pen is made from 2x2's and 1x2's. 4 feet long x 2 feet wide. Still have to add plywood to the left side so they can have a hiding spot. Roof is coming too. I hope to drill it to my wooden fence on the side of my house.

I have been thinking of building something like this to add a ground run to my pen. Nice job.

My first quail pen! Got the cage for free. Needed some work.
The best part was decorating the inside! They love their forest of fake plants. Lol

Sorry for the photo overload. These are my first quail and I'm so excited about them!

I hope so! I've spent many hours stressing over them. I have never owned anything as fragile as quail chicks!
Glad I could have put the hutch to goo use!

I completely understand where you are coming from. This is my first time hatching and raising quail. Mine will be 4 weeks old soon and I'm going to put some of my bigger feathered out ones outside tonight. A little nervous since our nights are still in the mid to upper 40's but the brooder is getting way too crowded and our days have been really warm in the mid 70's and 80's.

I put mine out at 2 and a half weeks. I had limited choices!! Their brooder was too small, but the ONLY thing I had! They were picking eachothers back feathers out, so something ha to change.
Our days have been in the upper 70s and nights in the mid 60s.
They have been just fine thank goodness! Have not lost one!
