Show me your quail pens!!!

Are you liking these feeders? Pros? Cons?
The feeder dish in the top pic is not used as a feeder, I use those for sand so they can dust bath. The trough style baby rabbit feeder that you can kinda see in the bottom pic is what I use to feed them and they work awesome. The feed tray slides out from the front of the cage so I never have to open the cage to feed, and there are 6 individual feeder holes so there is no fighting over getting into the feeder. The top, sides, and back of the feeders are closed off and there are individual dividers between each hole on the inside so there is very little waste. They cost about $10 each but well worth it to me. I see no cons to these.

Work in progress... 10 minutes to design, 10 hours to build.

Got the sides done today. The middle row is slanted five degrees for an egg roll-out. My local hardware store is out of the large rolls of 1/4" hardware cloth so I'm in a holding pattern for now. I still have to figure out how I'll do the doors but I have a month to sort it out.

but next year I'll have my own coop! Mines just an old cage. It's about 28" L and 17" W. Once I finish it all up and get my quail in it I'll have to post pictures!!!

I'm considering something like that for the bobs I just hatched. The only differences in my plan is that the rear will be made of plywood, and the ceiling will only be 10" - 12" high.

My first DIY attempt for my quail if they hatch, wire underneath as well and top wire hooks over nails so I can get in if needed. The idea being I can move them round the garden or onto the concrete over the winter as the uk can get pretty wet!

Im thinkin I might build 3 of these for the Quail as grow out pens what do you think ? these are for my NZ and are 96 long with wire then 2 ft for each house
How do you keep the rain from destroying the wood? I haven't built my first one yet. I really don't have a clue as to what kind of wood or even how to make a door.
