You either use pressure treated wood, which will still only last a few years in ply wood form. Or you coat it with something whether it be an outdoor paint or stain. If you plan on using a form of plywood in your build I would suggest a marine grade plywood which is used in boat flooring, will hold up to water far better. Just a bit more pricey.

Noticed you used 1/2 x 1/2 wire mesh. Do you have problem with some eggs not rolled out? What is your slope? I'm building my cage and bought the 1" x 2" wire since I heard 1/2 x 1/2 may have problem.

Haven't had a single egg not make it out. My slope os exactly 1"/1'. So, I am at 36" deep and my floor has a a three inch drop. It looked very extreme before there were birds in it, but once they filled it up.... I took care to place my hardware cloth so the welds of the wire running side to side were on the bottom.
