SHOW ME YOUR WALK IN COOPS!

Here is a basic drawing of mine when I build it....

the whole thing is really considered a Poultry House. My need is to be able to maneuver down that central area feed and collect eggs. Water will be delivered by automatic watering system.

I live in the desert so keeping everything in the shade and in the coop is the easiest The partitons are six by twelve. So this coop is going to be 24 x 24 feet and six feet high.the ends along the chicken roosts and the counter will have full walls... The sides will be chainlink inforced with Aviary wire and half walls down at the bottome. Feral dogs sometimes harass my critters and what they cant see they cant chase.

All run exits will be along the chicken wall... Pop doors The run will be 24 x 100 guineas are runners and fliers.... The run will be fortified along the fence with aviary panels and from the panels up there will be aviary netting supported by Post that look like tether ball posts... Set in concrete in the middle of a car tire. each post will have a bask et ball or equivalent to keep the post fromn ripping the netting.

I have predators galore here and once you have poultry its like ringing the dinner bell.

Not only do I have feral dogs to contend with I have:
Coyotes
Mountain lion
Bobcat
Desert Fox
Raccoon
The occasional Possom
Weasel

Thats just the ground critters

Then there are
Falcons,
Redtailed hawks,
Owls
While Ravens arent usually considered predators they are opportnists. And LOVE Eggs and will go right into a coop to snag one. Same for baby chicks...

Since I also want to keep goats for brush control and sillyness I will be using one of those partitions for goat housing. And Livestock Guarding dog housing as well.

One or the other. I like both. Lol
My dad also wants to build it. By I think the $$$ is worth it. Just looking at all the fancy boards and shingles. I will have enough fun doing the inside. Lol

I like that one better... But then I am always looking for shade. Either one will be good for Veniltaion once you read up on it.

Wow! we have the same predators here! (exept we have gray foxes and red foxes) plus we have bears. that is a cool complex!

cool! where do the other 4 windows go?
It only comes with 2 windows in the front. So I am going to have them add one on each side and 2 in the back.

Thats what I thought.
